What a Weekend!

I went to the Joshua James concert at the Velour with my roommate Leilani. She is a peach for coming with me to try something new, and on short notice. Now, I was first exposed to the music of Joshua James a whole two weeks ago. He sang with Joshua Radin at the concert I went to at In the Venue. I was intrigued, so I went to itunes and checked out his stuff. I must say I was pretty darn impressed. So, when I found out he was going to be playing just up the street from me, I simply had to go.

The concert was great. I have seen few people in my life who channel so much emotion and so much passion when they are performing. I am sure that he felt every last word of every last song that he was singing. And it didn't hurt at all that he is the most unassuming and perhaps almost awkward human being. He just seemed so honest, not afraid that he wasn't totally comfortable talking up on stage, he owned that weakness and it endeared every one in that audience to him. The only disappointing part of it all is that his album isn't as raw as his live performance, it really was a great show.
